Tricks caught on video: High Chair Series

I can feed myself. Kind of.

I like this food. I think I'll do a little dance.

No peas for me please!

Yay! We're done!!

That peas video was too funny! Funny how early they learn "no." Spencer quickly let me know he didn't like peas either.

He used to LOVE peas and hate fruit. Once he got used to the fruit, he stopped eat peas! I keep trying though.

The clapping cracked me up. I love how he holds his left arm still and brings the other one to it. It's still making me giggle. Does he always do it like that?

How much time has passed between the first two videos and the last two (peas and clapping)? Am curious because he looks so tiny in the one where he is refusing peas but in the first two he's so much bigger.

Maybe he'll like peas when they are not in puree or mashed form. Large S loves whole peas.

The peas was actually the last video taken. They were all taken in the last 3 days though.

I think it's just the angle since Matt was taking the peas one. Looking down makes him a bit more diminutive.

Cute videos! We're starting to enter that dreaded toddler stage with Garrett -- the stage where he more resolutely proclaims whether he will or will not eat what I offer him. Lately there's been lots of head shaking, shoving away of the spoon, and spitting out his food. It's trying, I tell you. He's decided that he'd prefer it if I didn't feed him pureed foods, which, okay, I'll just cook him small chunks. He likes that well enough -- he loves feeding himself. But what he loves better is when we give him "grown up food" ie: what we're eating for dinner. His current favorite? Meatloaf. Go figure. Why is it that kids want to grow up so fast? :)

Laura, it's funny, we've never taught him yes and no.

Cassie, I think I should try green beans again. The one time we tried it he got a diaper rash.

RJ, I have been watching him today and he does it the same every time. It's the one thing he's done "ahead of schedule". He started clapping back in month 5.

this was sooo fun to watch. I know what i have to look forward to soon... smiles! i love that you taught him all these tricks... like shaking his head no and clapping. Who likes canned peas anyway, right?

Haha. Coco, it gets soooo much more rewarding when your baby learns to smile and interact!!!

But just for the record, they were actually frozen peas I steamed and pureed. That's why they're so bright green.
