Left ureterolithiasis with renal colic

That's what started this whole mess. Last night Matt came home with horrible stomach pains. He thought he had food poisoning or something. When it persisted and worsened we decided to take him to urgent care.

After the blood testing, urine testing, and CT scan they concluded he had a kidney stone. They said it was small so all they could do was give him so Vicodin and send him home to hopefully pass it within 2 days.

The Vicodin has done absolutely nothing for him and he's been vomiting since 2 AM (it's now 10:20 AM). The paper we got from Urgent Care said to call or bring him in if this happened, but I keep calling and no one will answer. So much for urgency. Their hours are 10 AM to 10 PM. They should be open. Why are you evading my call??? My husband is writhing in pain and I can't do anything for him. He' getting progressively worse and feels much more awful that when we took him into Urgent Care. He's getting the chills and he can't keep down liquid or anything for that matter. There's no way he'll pass this stone if we can't get him hydrated.

Oh my goodness. I hope he's OK. Can you get him to another Urgent Care?

Well, I just got home. We left for Urgent Care at 10:40 this morning and it's now 9:47 PM. I guess their electricity was out this morning so they didn't have a working phone the first half hour.

He had a fever and an infection so that meant he had to go to the hospital. They've kept him drugged up and hydrated so he's feeling much better than if he was here. He'll be there tonight and hopefully will be able to come home tomorrow or the next day. Thank heavens for insurance! He's had a CT scan, blood work, X-rays, an ambulance ride and more. What a fun filled day.

Thanks for your concern.

So glad he's got some good care. You handled everything well. Our prayers are with you.

He may or may not have really had a kidney stone. That wasn't what was causing him the pain apparantly. He had appendicitis. So, he had surgery today around 2 PM and is still in the hospital. He's feeling as good as one can feel after having a finger sized object extracted through his belly button. He should be able to come home tomorrow morning as long as he can walk and doesn't have a temperature still. (It was 100.2 when I left at 8:40PM).

I love how we have an organ who can't do anything but try and kill us. Awesome!

Hope recovery goes well. Tell Matt hello and get well soon from me.
