Zombified

This past week I have felt exhausted (and continuously nauseous all day) beyond anything I've felt before, including late night studying/paper writing/college etc.. My body just crashes about 7:30 or 8 (even if I've taken a nap during Dean's nap, but especially if I don't) and I can't get anything productive done. I have so much fabric and a number of projects just waiting to be started. I often just go in and out of consciousness on the couch while I wait for "bedtime" to roll around. And why is it that I'm writing this at 10:53 pm when I should be in bed? Because I have this silly problem that I have a really hard time falling asleep in bed, no matter how tired, if Matt home and not in bed with me.

I need more sleep...

But to end on a positive note, the weather this afternoon and evening was fabulous. I love the 70's.

I have a hard time going to bed without the hubby at my side. Silly, but there it is. When he's on a business trip I have a giant frog that I sleep with. Because I'm a grown up. (hehe)

I'm sorry that you're so tired. I hope it gets better soon. Could it be a slight anemia? When I started taking iron supplements when I was pregnant I got a lot of energy back.

I have that problem and I'm not pregnant! What's my excuse? It is hard keeping up with this age I think. I have to entertain Lily all day or else she will just be naughty!

first thing is to abandon all projects. i would also recommend taking some kind of OTC sleep aid (half a unisom) which can help with insomnia and nausea. even if you are totally anti-drug, even one good night of sleep can revive you enough to not need catnaps all day, which may help you sleep better at night too. you have my full sympathy though. 2 of my pregnancies were insomnia nightmares, and 3 had way-past-first-trimester-nausea. i'm really so sorry that you're feeling this way.

Kristee, not sure about the anemia, but I do take my prenatal. I noticed that yesterday and today I was not quite as nauseous so I was eating a little more/better. I think that helped give me some energy. I did take a nap yesterday, but I didn't crash in the evening.

Les, I agree chasing/ monitoring a little one definitely adds to the exhaustion.

Thanks for the tips A. I should get some unisom for nights such as two nights ago when I wrote this. I ended up trying to go to bed before Matt and was still awake when he came in at midnight. He fell asleep and I was up until 1!! Yuck. Those are unisom nights.

i tried hard not to use it TOO much, but if I ever had two nights in a row of terrible insomnia, I just had to take at least a half a unisom the 3rd night to try to catch up. you have to be careful though. sometimes if I started getting too sleep deprived, or i took it too late (after 11 pm for me),the unisom actually gave me a buzz and kept me up until 4 am. grrr. the good news is that unisom is supposedly one of the safest drugs during pregnancy.
