Walter's food

Last week I decided to start Walt on some solids. I was going to wait until 6 mo. because it is supposed to reduce the chance for food allergies, but I have to be honest, sustaining a 22 lb. 6 mo. old by myself was getting a little difficult.

We started him on freshly ground oatmeal. From there he's tried: avocado (not so fond), banana (didn't like), sweet potato (liked it a lot), apple sauce, green beans, zucchini, yogurt, and he's sucked on pretzels because he was very distraught I was eating without sharing. Up until today he hasn't seems too incredibly interested in eating what and when we're eating. Today he was very insistent that he eat lasagna with us, so he got the ricotta.

I love starting solids with my babies. I always mean to wait until 6 months but have caved at 5 with both kids and haven't really regretted it with either of them.
Also, yeah, that's a big baby for you to be feeding all by yourself! I bet he's giving you some killer upper arms!

It's funny you say that. On Sunday one of my friends said her sister mentioned to her, "have you noticed Celia's arms are ripped!" and she said, "as a matter of fact, I have!" haha.

Such funny expressions on his face!

Yeah, I had a baby like that and it really did a number for my right arm in particular! Only, he hit 20 lbs about 7 months old and stalled out there for the rest of the year. Walt's kicking butt on that competition.
