Baby 3 Belly @ 24 weeks

Well, it's been 6 weeks since I last posted a picture, but I guess that's ok since it then puts me on the right track for my other pregnancy pictures. Dean was being extra silly while taking pictures this time, and we didn't come away with super great pics. I look extra belly heavy, so much so that it appears I'm falling over! =) Dean couldn't quite get it straight. The shirt and pants are both "regular" clothes, and the pants are even too baggy and I can still button and zip them, so I must have gone through a chubbier phase for sure! Or I was just not wearing well fitted clothing. Or a little of both. After seeing these pictures I'm probably done wearing this shirt. Just looks a little too short.

Interested in how this compares with my first two pregnancies?  I am.

Here's 24 weeks with Dean
Here's 24 weeks with Walter.
I have to admit, I'm pretty surprised looking at these. I thought I was carrying very similar to how I carried with Walt, but I'm carrying so much lower and a bit bigger! Maybe that means it will be helpful for the vba2c (vaginal birth after 2 cesarean-sections) that I'm planning? Oh, and speaking of vba2c, I interviewed and hired a doula. I guess I need to do the paperwork still, but I'm excited to find someone. Kathy Voigtsberger
of Whole Heart Birth.

I have still been walking/jogging about 3 miles a day 3 or 4 days a week. Usually it's with the stroller at about a 13-18 min. pace depending on if I'm walking or "jogging".  But today I got to run by myself since my MIL is here and I averaged 9.5-10.5 min miles!! I was shocked as could be. I was able to do 3.25 miles in 32 min.  I didn't have any stomach cramping and I felt great the whole time. There was a really thick fog which is unusual, and it was just so refreshing. I almost felt like a real jogger as opposed to a 6 mo. pregnant lady trying to pretend to jog as I waddle down the street.

Baby 3 Belly @ 18 weeks

I kind of feel like I exploded the last couple of weeks. I am now in maternity tops (or maternity tanks under regular shirts at the very least).  I put away most of my regular shirts, two of my regular shorts, and got out all my maternity wear.  All of the maternity bottoms are HUGE, but I had forgotten I had put some of my old "fatter" pants and shorts in with my maternity wear, and those are still a little big but will work for now.

Up until last Sat. I could jog 6 mi. at about 10.5 min/mile pace, but my running partner is doing her marathon this weekend, and I think she'll be doing recovery walking after that. So I'll probably just switch over to that soon. Maybe some jalking (walking and jogging) for awhile. This week I'm painting the last room in our house, so I better go get that all taped off so I can get it done in a timely manner.

Tonight at Home Depot I turned around after getting a cart and an employee was kind of looking at me funny. He then explained, "From the back you look so tiny, and then when you turn around...well, you're still tiny but pregnant! You carry your baby well." haha. I had someone at a yard sale on Sat. tell me almost the same exact thing. "Oh my goodness I didn't realize you were pregnant until you turned around. You carry your baby well."  So, that makes me feel good at least even though I'm looking 24 weeks pregnant at 18 weeks. =)

Dean told me to make silly faces, so this is what I came up with.  He said, "good job mom!" when I was done. I think I only wrote it on FB, so I figured I'd write it here as well since I actually print this out. The other day my stomach was growling a lot at breakfast and Dean said, "Is that the baby talking?" hahaha. Love it.

I was supposed to have my 18 week check up today, but had to reschedule for next week. We haven't had our "official" ultrasound yet to confirm the 12 week ultrasound results as to the baby's sex.

Here's what I looked like at 20 weeks my last two pregnancies to get kind of an idea of how I progressed each time.

Baby 3 Belly @10 weeks

I love to do the baby belly progression and since I'm showing much earlier this time around, I thought I'd start the pics earlier as well. Here I am at 10 weeks. Dean took these pictures for me.

And since the camera was out, the boys wanted me to take some pictures of them as well. Dean wanted one of him showing his muscles, and so I tried to get one of Walt flexing as well, though he didn't quite get the concept. =)

And here is Walter "cheesing" as Dean likes to say.

Belly Beautiful: 36 weeks

It's a little hard to believe, but 3 weeks from today I'll have a new little baby outside of my belly. People tell me almost daily that I look like I'm about to pop. I'm feeling pretty well, though. Sleeping has been extra hot. I end up on the couch pretty frequently at night so I can sleep under a fan.

I started the "nesting" phase finally. I think I'd been in denial for awhile that his arrival was close. He has a few new outfits and I put all of Dean's 12 mo. clothes away today so I could make closet space for the old "new baby" clothes. I'm also starting to sell some of our bulky stuff that's taking up unnecessary room. I just sold my single jogger for $5 less than I bought it last year. Not bad since I used it almost 5 days a week for a year. I'm still TOTALLY kicking myself for not buying that BOB stroller off of craigslist. I had no idea how well they held their value. I could have bought it for $350 and sold it for more on ebay if I wanted! It still makes me sick to think about missing out on that deal because I was too cheap. I've never had worse non-buyer's remorse. Since then I've been looking on craigslist and ebay at the BOB duallie and Phil and Ted's double. I've yet to see one close for less than $400.

I'm starting to feel a little nervous about having 2 children under 2! I'm also feeling a little nervous that Matt will be traveling 1-2 of the next 3 weeks! Pray that I don't go into labor early people.

Belly Beautiful: 32 weeks

Lets see...according to my picture schedule, I technically only have 1 picture left after this! Since I'm scheduling a c-section, I only have 7 weeks left (unless I go into labor early, but I kinda doubt that one). My doctor visits are more frequent than monthly now, so I can't give accurate stats for this week. I weighed 150 at my visit a week and a half ago. That would have been 19 lbs. at that point.

Belly Beautiful: 28 weeks

Well, here's the monthly update. Here are my 28 week comparison photos. At church on Sunday I was told I look as though I have a basketball stuffed up my shirt. I would have to agree! haha.

As you can see, my curly hair STILL looks like junk here in TX despite the fact that I've tried almost every "anti frizz" "curly hair" concoction. It makes me very sad. Give me my dry heat! I'm done with humidity.

Belly Beautiful: 24 weeks and latest maternity skirt

Thanks to everyone for all the birthday wishes! It's so nice to hear from friends and family.

I finished my latest skirt tonight and I love it. I added a couple inches to this one (compared to the last one I made) and I like it much better. When I sit down it still covers my knees. I am soooo happy that the brown Down East shirt is one that fit me well! I needed a brown shirt so badly. (Thanks again Julie!) I only have one more skirt I plan on making. Matt suggested I make and sell these, but I think it would be kinda hard to make a skirt purely on people's numbers without them being able to try it on! (The skirt fabric is Moda: Tranquility Geo) This ran about $15-20 in fabric alone since I didn't get it on clearance and it's a good quality fabric.

I was going to post my 24 week pic. from last time, but it was in a flowy baby doll shirt and it's not really a good comparison.

BB: 20 Weeks, Maternity Skirts, and Ultrasound Results

This post is tri-fold as you can tell by the title. Oh, and I guess I'm sporting my new haircut that I got last week. I love getting my haircut. Too bad I only do it once or twice a year. (I last got it cut April 2008.)

Reminder of 20 weeks my last pregnancy:

20 weeks this time around (sporting my 2 newly made-by-me maternity skirts): Interesting. I look more pregnant in the tan shirt than I do in the white even though they're the same exact shirt (old regular small shade shirts) in different colors. Maybe it's because the blue skirt has elastic and the green doesn't...
I made the green skirt a long time ago (with a pattern) but never really wore it because a) it was a little too big and b) it was a drawstring waist and bunched up in the front at the waist. So I chopped it at the top, took it in 1 inch on the side, and added some jersey knit for a waistband. I am pleased with the results and think it will be worn a lot more as a maternity skirt.

I made the blue skirt this past week or so by drafting my own pattern (thanks to the book Sew What! Skirts) and referring occasionally to See Mommy Sew's instructions. Just a very simple, lined, A-line skirt. I like the feel of the elastic better, but 3-in. elastic is nearly impossible to find. I stole the elastic I used from an old pair of maternity pants I inherited but will never wear.

Here are some front shots of the skirts and the belly bands:

Now, onto our ultrasound results. Since we had an ultrasound at 13 weeks, we had a good idea it was probably a boy, and today that was confirmed. Yes, our second child is a boy. He was not shy one bit about it. He was extremely wiggly and kept burying himself up by my placenta sack, so we couldn't get a good 3-D picture, but overall things are looking just great. The one 3-D picture she snapped made him look like a smiling crazed zombie. We were all busting up at it.

Belly Beautiful: 16 weeks

I don't have pictures of 16 weeks last pregnancy, so I'll show the pics. from 20 weeks last time so you can appreciate how much bigger I am this time around! Holy Smokes! What does 40 weeks have in store for me???

Belly Beautiful: 12 weeks

If you were here with me during my last pregnancy, you know that I love tracking the belly growth...I mean baby growth. I think pregnant ladies are beautiful and it's just fascinating to me to see how much it can change in 4 weeks. I'm a big fan of wearing fitted clothes rather than the big tent maternity wear. I feel cuter, and personally, I think it makes me look smaller!

The only regret I have this time is that I didn't take a picture when I was down to my thinnest (124 lbs. with clothes on) right before I got pregnant. Between stopping nursing and just plain being pregnant, I weighed in at 131 at my 10 week apt. with the doc. Not bad, and actually better than last time.

I don't have the same shirt I wore last time, so I'm just wearing the most fitted shirt I own.

I've definitely shifted a little, and I'm popping out a little quicker this time around, but I am ok with that. I'm still able to comfortably wear my smallest jeans. At least for now. Gotta love lower rise pants.
