Menu Monday even though it's Tuesday: week 2

I wasn't nearly so prepared this week for menu planning. I nearly fell off the wagon already! But this is what I've come up with:
  1. Crockpot pork roast, roasted potatoes, peas (done)
  2. Homemade pizza, broccoli
  3. Chicken satays, Israeli couscous with grilled veggies
  4. Bean, rice and pork (left over pork) burritos, salad with left over guacamole and pico
  5. Cheese ravioli, Mariana's Rolls, artichokes

I'm impressed. I start planning dinner around, oh, 5:00. I aspire to be a menu planner. Maybe in another couple months. :)

I do the same sort of thing on my blog, with Menu Monday. I would love to see a recipe with the menu every now and again. I still remember the delicious enchilladas you made when I had my first baby in Provo. You are an excellent cook! Yummy.

Kristeee: This is only my second week in the planning. I normally am one who starts planning my meals at 6:30 pm once Dean's down. We were just eating too late like that and neither of us ever has ideas. We both hate coming up with a dinner plan. So, this is in effort of getting better.

Jodi: I try and link it if it's linkable. The rolls are linked. I should have linked my crust recipe. It's alton brown's pizza pizzas crust on food network. If I take pictures of the finished product, I post the recipes for sure.

mmmmm... sounds so good! I am so impressed that you are sticking to this. I try to do it, but it normally only ends up that it happens once a month.

I LOVE THE PICTURE ON THE TOP OF YOUR PAGE. Your little guy is so adorable!

I love how gourmet you are! I sat down yesterday and did my pre-grocery shopping menu planning, and though I'm excited to eat the meals I'll be making in the next week or two, yours sound so much more...exotic. (And delicious.)

Also, I'm liking your Menu Monday idea. It gives me some good meal ideas to try at our house. Maybe one of these days I'll follow suit and do something similar on my blog. ;)

Lindsay, it wasn't always like this. I've always liked cooking, but my standards have risen immensely since I first got married. It's a blessing and a curse I tell you.

I think it started getting more gourmet when I cooked at New Haven. I had a lot of leeway and a good budget, so I learned a TON there.

The good thing is we have a much wider variety. The bad thing is I spend more money than I used to on groceries. Rest assured, I do have boxed mac n' cheese days!

Amanda, thanks! I think he's quite scrumptious myself.

OH, and there's a site that has a whole network of menu monday people. I don't do it since I can't get myself together in time, but it's interesting to look at and see what other people's families eat.

I'm always inspired by your gourmet and exotic meals. I need to take a few steps out of our "menu comfort zone"!

I get bored easily of food and I love trying new things. I'm glad I can inspire!

I make a menu too. I hate it so I've recently started doing it for a whole month! It works out so much better and then I just have to sit down and think of different foods to eat once. I've also started shopping for the food once a month and then going once a week for the other essentials taht you need. This has saved us a bunch of $$$ surprisingly!
